read:
only one block from la Quinta
or
between la Quinta and the beach
What is La Quinta ?
La Quinta is the 5th ( avenue / avenida) and is Playa del Carmen's
main street and shopping area.
Those streets, which are parallel to the beach, are called avenidas
or avenues and are numbered in steps of five starting from the beach
5th avenue, 10th avenue, 15th...... and so on. 15th avenue would
be 3 blocks from the beach.
The properties on la Quinta (5th), excluding the beach properties,
are the most expensive ones
in Playa del Carmen. More than 90 % off all the business from
tourism in Playa del Carmen happens on the 5th Avenue.
Starbucks, Mac Donald, Burger King, Converse and other big companies
are located there.
The 5th is a pedestrian zone and closed for cars.
Insider split the 5th into two parts, the old 5th which is the
naturally growing part and the new part, which is called small
Italy, where the restaurants, shops and hotels in that area are
owned by european foreigners, mostly from italy.
La Quinta, the 5th, stands for expensive , most business and close
to the beach. This is the reason, why a lot of agents use La quinta
or the 5th in their property descriptions.
